When it comes to brand names you will want to go with Wilson, Callaway, Spalding, Titleist, Adams, or Mizuno. If you want to fit in with your golfing buddies, you may want to go with the more popular names like Callaway.
The reason why it is so important that you get a good set of clubs is because it will define your game. If you have a bad club, so your game is going to be way off. You will also want to consider the parts of the club to determine the value. You need to look at the flexibility of the shaft. If you are a beginner you will want some flexibility, however, if you are a strong swinger you will want a club with less flexibility so that you can have more control over your game.
The basic set of golf clubs includes wedges, putters, drivers, and irons. You will need at least one of each club, but as you get use to golfing you will develop favorites. The type of swing that you have to make will determine the type of club that you use. Drivers allow you to make your long shots and putters are used to make short shots. You will need to know what each club is used for before you begin the game.
You will want to consider your level of ability when it comes to clubs. It is based on handicaps. Low being an expert and high being new to the game. If you can play, the game and fairly well you are considered a mid handicap. Your ability will determine what clubs you should use how many clubs you should have.
To get the general knowledge of what you should buy you will want to ask the advice from a fellow golfer or you should ask the salesman. You will need to know what clubs to purchase for your level. You can also purchase second hand clubs. Clubs can be expensive and if you purchase older clubs you will be able to get them for a steal, however, if you must you can purchase new, but it will be costly. If the range offers rentals, you may be able to take advantage of that. This way you don’t have to spend a lot of money if you only play every now and then.
