Choosing The Right Golf Equipment
Buying golf equipment can be like dumping money into a money pit, but armed with some knowledge you can save
time and money in selecting the right clubs for yourself. As with most things in life, you can spend a
lot or you can spend a little several times before you get what you really need.
If you are starting out and not completely sure you want to commit to this addictive game, you should
either rent clubs at the golf course, or buy a starter set of clubs.
Buying a set of started clubs enables you to become accustomed to them; enabling you to concentrate on
your swing instead of wondering how this set of miss-matched clubs you just rented are going to work out. Read the rest of this entry »
Choosing The Right Golf Shoes
Your swing will change, your accuracy and distance
will improve with practice, and you’ll become deadly
with a putter, but you will always do these things
while standing on your feet.
Your feet need to be comfortable! Have you ever
developed a blister while walking or running? It’s all
you can think about and it ruins the experience. Don’t
let uncomfortable shoes ruin your golf game.
This is one area where you shouldn’t let your
frugality make the decision for you. You will be
wearing these shoes many times and they should be
considered an investment. Read the rest of this entry »
Golf Accessories Can Improve Your Game
Other than hiring expensive tutors, golf pros use many other tricks in order to improve their game. Rigorous and regular practice is, of course, an obvious choice for the professional.
However, most pros will also exploit their golf accessories in many which ways. If you do the same, it may help improve your game and in the long run, may reduce your handicap as well.
Many pros will attach golf weights to the ends of their clubs. Then they practice their slow swings with the additional weights. This offers 3 distinct benefits – Read the rest of this entry »
The Gentle Game of Golf
The sport of golf has been gaining popularity worldwide because of the sterling qualities of the game. Despite being intensely competitive, the game itself lends to the gentler side of man by being a leisurely game (there is no rush to finish a game or time limits to playing a complete round, unless of course there are other players waiting for their turn at the greens). It is conducive for business deals too.
Parents of young children encourage their kids to take up the game to instill patience in their youngsters. Golf is one game that requires patience in terms of endless practice (most games really do) and a high degree of precision. Needless to say, people find golf to be a worthy sport although a golfer is likely to be competiting against himself by trying to achieve a lower score with each round he plays.
No wonder the big names in sporting goods equipment, apparel and accessories find it worthy to expand their product lines to include golf. Today, we see an explosion in the number of newly-open golf courses around the world. There are currently 32,000 golf courses in the world with about half of them in the United States alone. Golf is one leading reason why tourists go to other countries – just to try out their golf courses and also avail of possibly lower green fees too in the cheaper tropical nations. Choosing The Right Golf Shoes
Sometimes it is hard to find the right golf shoes for yourself. Besides comfort, another consideration is durability. Choosing the right golf shoes can help improve your game and lower your score, simply because you feel comfortable all throughout the play. A golf game can take several hours so it is essential that your feet feel totally comfortable whether walking on the greens to the next shot or just standing and waiting for your turn at the hole. There are many brands today that appeal to all tastes and styles.
Among the more well-known brands are Adidas golf shoes (the German manufacturer of sports apparel which branched out into sports shoes), Nike golf shoes (American maker of sports shoes which branched out into sports apparel and Adidas’ biggest competitor), Callaway golf shoes, Slazenger golf shoes and Dunlop golf shoes (the last 3 names already well known brands before offering golf shoes). Selecting The Best Golf Driver
Professional golfers choose a particular brand of golf driver because it fits not only their playing style but also their playing strength. Just as there are different personality characteristics, there are also widely differing golf drivers that put to good use such strengths.
For beginners, amateurs and novices, it pays to notice what the professional golfers have to say about a particular brand. One fits the other and most golf pros often switch brands to try them out and see which driver gives them the qualities they are looking for – primarily distance and accuracy on the fairway greens.
Before a golf pro endorses a particular brand, he or she would try them out first. These drivers are usually prototypes lent to them for practice drives and see what results come out. Once a golf pro is satisfied and fully convinced about the merits of a driver, a sponsorship contract is usually signed. Read the rest of this entry »

Taylor Made Golf Clubs
Taylor Made golf clubs are making a name for themselves in the highly-competitive golf clubs market. Taylor Made is a part of the Adidas Group of the sporting goods and apparel name in response to the Callaway Golf Company’s acquisition of the defunct Spalding sporting equipment brand name. Taylor Made golf clubs are made with the same precision and high quality as all the other Adidas lines.
Actually, the famous Taylor Made putter is made by a subsidiary of the Adidas Group called the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company (spelled with a small letter “a” and known also as TMaG). The firm is focused on all lines of golfing equipment, apparel and accessories but carries the Adidas cachet to it. A Taylor Made putter has various names like Itsy Bitsy Monza Spider, Rossa Core Classics and Rossa Monza Spider. TMaG was formed in response to a perceived market weakness of Adidas in the highly lucrative golf sporting goods equipment, accessories and apparel sub-niche.
The result is the Taylor Made superquad driver – one of the best in golf for driving distance and accuracy. The Taylor Made superquad driver guarantees you shorter approach shots on the fairways. Read the rest of this entry »
Callaway Big Bertha
Big Bertha is synonymous with the Callaway brand of golf equipment. A Callaway golf driver is most likely one of those Big Bertha drivers. The Callaway Big Bertha series is a catchy name that has stuck in the minds of most golfing professionals because of superior performance.
As an aside, the name was derived from Bertha Krupp of the Krupp steel industrial empire and referred specifically to a heavy howitzer used during World War I. The Callaway Big Bertha therefore denotes massive power. A Callaway golf driver is usually made of pure stainless steel which is heavier than the more common titanium. Its golf club head is only 190 cubic centimeters versus the maximum of 460 cubic centimeters allowed by the USGA. The heavier head translates to a longer golf drive.
The highly-evocative Big Bertha catchphrase soon became very popular in golfing circles even though Callaway Golf Company is a relative newcomer in golfing equipment. The Callaway Big Bertha developed in 1986 using some principles of billiards and aerodynamic computer programs had soon expanded to other golf equipment like woods, irons, wedges, putters and even golf balls.
